We survived black Friday, well at least Annette did!
Today’s plan is to catch the N38 & N263 buses in the correct direction this time to visit a few soles in Highgate Cemetery. Followed by the Dead Poets Society at Bunhill Fields.
Looking at the weather, it’s not going to morbid down at the cemetery with the sun shining!
Today’s trivia:
London typically experiences around 150 days of “clear” or partly cloudy skies per year, though days with full, uninterrupted blue skies are much rarer, estimated at closer to 50.
And today is one of those 50 days!
I lost my beanie last night. Thankfully it was at Caffè Tropea. I had to answer some high level security questions before they’d hand it over, what colour is it?

The No. 214 was held up by roadworks and the bus driver didn’t follow a simple request . . .

They want money for entry into the west wing of the cemetery, so we did the freebie east side. Besides, the west side requires a tour guide and apparently my credentials don’t meet the requirements.
My mate, Karl is buried here and he’d curtainly not be happy over in the west wing!

Some other notable graves were came across . . .

We caught the No. 214 to Bunhill Fields, but the driver decided to terminate long before our stop. Which ended up to our advantage, as we walked along Regent’s Canal and Shepherdess Way.

Bunhill is home to around 123,000 nonconformists and many leading intellectuals, radicals and clergymen dating back to around 1660 . . .

We passed the Museum of the Order of Saint John, it was free and interesting history of the ancient religious military Order dating back to the 11th century.
Painted papier-mâché figures mass-produced in Malta as tourist souvenirs during the 19th century. The figures depict various ranks and roles of the Order’s members.

Some notable things seen along our travels of the day . . .

Dinner was had at the hotel. Excellent thick tuna steak and salmon with fries. The table lamp, Neoz comes from Terry Hills, Sydney, Australia!
