The hotel lifts are interesting . . .

As the tide was going out and the wind had dropped considerably, we thought it would be a good idea and explore the Another Place by Antony Gormley.
It certainly was for a short while.

Then disaster struck . . .

I was standing about to take a photo when the sand gave way and I just sunk to my knees. When I tried to move, I went a little deeper. The suction was pretty bad and initially lost a shoe! Did Annette care, no she had her head buried in her thingie. I could have disappeared and not left a trace.
I stripped down back at the car down to undies and jacket. Now I know what it’s like to be a flasher. I drove to hotel, where I washed the mud/sand off my pants, shoes and socks and cleaned the camera (hoping it’s OK) and didn’t think of taking photos. Found a laundromat and washed the clothes. Should have put the shoes in too. We wandered around town while the washing was being done.

The old pier

Over at Toad Hall Ainsdale, is Paul Curtis’ mural on 6 derelict houses. They have been like this for 4 plus years according to google. So there’s no housing shortage in Southport then!

Today’s travels . . .
